New Release Tuesday

Hi everyone,

It's Tuesday and time to reveal the new releases at Bugaboo Stamps.  Here is one of the stamps you can purchase all this week for 50% off.

I did my normal manipulations here and used the stamp a little differently.  It took a little work, but I broke the blocks up so I could follow this weeks sketch entered below.

I used my Distress Oxide ink in Wilted Violet to create my purple background.  The gray splashes are actually "Black Soot", but I guess one out gray when diluted with water.

The trick or treat sentiment is a DS image, I heat embossed it 3 times with clear embossing powder to give it some dimension.  It was really difficult to glue on as small as it is, but I used Tim Holtz Multi Medium and placed a heavy object on top till the glue set.

I added a few black dots with my Nuvo Crystal drops in Ebony.

Thanks for stopping by,

Happy Craftin!

It's Saturday, and today's theme is Anything Goes at Catch the Bug Challenge.  I am featuring "Benny Blocks".

As you can see, I did a little work with them in Sure Cuts A Lot 4 to remove them from the blocks so I could showcase them as twins.

I really like the way they came out, like they are peeking through a window.  I am currently in love with plaids, this color combo really worked well.  I created my word "twins" in SCAL 4 also, so I could create a shadow layer for an offset.  The font used was "Watermelon".

Thanks for stopping by, please check out all the wonderful stamps over at the Bugaboo store.

Until next time,

Happy Stamping!

First Day of School

Hi everyone,

I have been taking a little break from my craft room.  I will be back on a weekly basis at the en of the month.

I have noticed the past few years a great new trend,  taking photo's of your kiddo's on their first day of school with a personalized board.

Here is what I made for my grand daughter's first day at Pre-K 4.

I used a majority of Cricut fonts, with only a few system fonts.  I found a heavy duty piece of chipboard, it must have been in one of my paper packs.  It was extremely sturdy.  I added a piece of black card stock on top.  Then I used Oracle 631, since it has a flat finish and applied all my letters.

I could have used the writing feature, but I was crunched for time and cut everything out.  Next year I am going to try using stencils, so I can chalk in some of the wording.  I am going to try out a few techniques before then.

Till next time,

Happy Craftin!

Back to School - Bookmarks

Today is anything but a card,  since it is time for the kiddos to get ready for the new school year, I decided to make a few bookmarks.

My niece is wild about animals,  so I chose the "Tall Jungle Blocks" from Bugaboo Stamps for my images.

Using the slice feature in DS, I cut out a frame to cover the stamps frame for a little added dimension.  These images are perfect for bookmarks.

I found two great tools for making my own tassels with embroidery thread, which I have a ton of.  The Clover Tassel Maker and the Clover Handy Thread Twister.  I purchased the smaller tool, because I just don't see a need for the larger one.  I used two shades of thread to make my tassel and kept the tassle loop large enough to loop through the bookmark.  I think I am finished buying twine, since I can make my own color combo's with the thread twister.

I cut out "This book belongs to:" in vinyl and put it on back of the bookmark.  They measure about 2"x6".

This is my last project as a guest designer on "Catch the Bug Challenge" blog with Bugaboo Stamps.  I really enjoyed the last two months, and was thrilled to be a part of a wonderful team, and work some fabulous stamps created by an amazing artist.

Thanks for following me these past two months.   Don't forget to get your Bugaboo Digital stamps at 50% off, today is the last day.

Till next time,

Happy Crafting!
